Dr. Waqas Ahmad has joined the IJID One Health as an Associate Editor in June 2024. He has been serving as an Assistant Professor in Epidemiology & Public Health at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Lahore-Narowal Campus, Pakistan since 2016. His academic and research interests include epidemiological investigations of dog-mediated rabies, zoonotic diseases, One Health, and infectious diseases at the animal-human interface. He has also edited the first open-access research book about rabies in the Asia Pacific entitled ‘One Health For Dog-Mediated Rabies Elimination In Asia, A Collection of Local Experiences’. Dr. Ahmad is the leading young scientist in the field of dog-mediated rabies who holds various international nominations to present his research work in peer-reviewed international meetings, conferences, and training. He has also been serving as a reviewer of several peer-reviewed journals and published many research and review articles as well. Dr. Ahmad is also an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA) of UK which further advocates his excellence in teaching and research.
