The global fight against antimicrobial resistance (AMR) takes centre stage in Lusaka, Zambia, from June 11th to 12th, 2025, as ReAct Africa and South Centre host the 10th Annual AMR Regional Conference. This prestigious event has been made possible with the support of the Zambia National Public Health Institute (ZNPHI) and Ministry of Health Zambia and the financial contribution of the AMR Policy Accelerator, ECSA-HC, the UK Fleming Fund, ICARS, GARDP, SIDA and Wellcome Trust aiming to build on the momentum created at the climax of ReAct Africa 2024 Congress.
Under the compelling theme "From Global to Local Action: Operationalising Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Commitments in Africa and Beyond," attendees will forge actionable strategies tailored to the unique challenges of low- and middle-income countries. This event is specifically crafted to elevate Africa's needs and priorities in the global health conversation.
The International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID) is proud to unite in a common goal with ReAct Africa and the South Centre in this vital initiative. We firmly believe that conquering AMR demands collaboration, and we're eager to contribute our expertise to this pivotal regional forum. ISID’s AMR Global Program Specialist, Dr. Mohamed Sirdar, will be delivering a virtual presentation on June 11, 2025, exploring "Surveillance of High Priority Pathogens across One Health." Be sure to attend! Registration details for online participation can be found here.
