Since our inception forty years ago, we have blazed trails in improving global pandemic and epidemic preparedness and built a highly effective global infectious diseases community. Small, but mighty, we lead the world in providing information and education that is critical to the detection and management of infectious disease outbreaks around the globe.

One area where we have not excelled is in building the kind of philanthropy that will sustain and broaden our efficacy and reach. Although we are a not- for- profit organization, only a very small percentage of our annual budget today is derived from charitable, tax-deductible gifts and grants from the foundations, corporations, and individuals who rely on us daily.
