2018 IJID Impact Factor Released
Rolling out the red carpet. Can you hear the trumpets? And the new IJID Impact Factor is… 3.538!
A short recap of the IJID Impact factor over the last years:
I think the saying “It takes a village to raise a child” also applies to the IJID Impact Factor. “It takes a village to raise the IJID Impact Factor”:
First and foremost, thank you to Eskild Petersen, IJID Editor-in-Chief and to the IJID Editors SS Lee, Lucille Blumberg and Susan McLellan. Thank you for all your work and dedication. Thank you to ISID’s new Assistant Editors Ira Praharaj and Sean Wasserman – I am sure your future contributions will further strengthen the standing of the IJID in the field.
Thank you to Paul Tambyah, Chair of ISID’s Publication Committee and to Alison Holmes, Past-chair of the Publication Committee and also the committee’s first chair. ISID’s Publication Committee was created several years ago with the aim to provide oversight of ISID’s publications. The committee has been instrumental in providing strategy on how to strengthen the standing of the IJID and in soliciting high quality review articles from committee members, ISID council and from ISID’s Emerging Leaders. Thank you Alison and Paul for your support, encouragement, and leadership.
Thank you to ISID’s Executive Committee members for authoring editorials and for authoring manuscripts, and special thanks to Cherry Kang who chose the IJID to publish a sponsored supplement on “Dengue in India”. The special supplement will be available online shortly.
Thank you to Gonzalo Bearman, the Editor of ISID’s Guide to Infection Control in the Healthcare Setting who is instrumental in making the new ISID Position Paper series happen which we hope will not only provide valuable guidance on implementing IPC measures in under-resourced countries but will also become a popular and much cited resource.
Thank you to Taryn Lorthe at the ISID office who communicates featured articles, special issues, editorials and other IJID content through ISID’s social media channels, email communications and newsletters to our broad membership. Thank you to Laurence Mialot and Amy Galblum at the ISID office who support the ISID Publication Committee work.
Thank you to Larry Madoff, Linda MacKinnon and Eskild Petersen at ProMED who make sure that the IJID content is posted on ProMED every month.
And last but not least, thank you to David Spencer, the IJID Publisher at Elsevier and to the Elsevier production staff Valeriya Salter and Isabela Claus. They make sure the publishing process runs smoothly and provide us with a steady stream of data and analytics to ensure we don’t lose track of the big picture with increasing numbers of manuscripts submitted.
