ISID’s Position Paper Series: Central Line Infections

The next paper in ISID's position paper series focuses on Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections (CLABSIs). The placement and access of central lines is crucial to deliver lifesaving medical treatments and restore health. However, when these access points become infected, this can complicate treatment regimens and endanger a patient's health.

The authors of this position paper highlight the importance of proper care for central lines and focus on methods to prevent these infections in low-resource settings. Using techniques such as proper hand hygiene, dressing changes, and equipment sterilization, healthcare providers can prevent CLABSIs and improve healthcare outcomes for their patients.

This position paper is freely available online through the International Journal of Infectious Diseases (IJID). Follow the link below to read the full paper.
