Introduction
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) continues to threaten global health, with low-resource settings facing challenges in surveillance, laboratory capacity, and coordinated national response. As part of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (WAAW) 2025, ISID is hosting an impactful webinar to strengthen AMR surveillance in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
This webinar will explore effective tools and innovations in AMR surveillance, highlighting challenges and best practices, and provide a platform for regionally diverse experts to share insights.
Objectives
• Review core challenges in AMR surveillance in low-resource settings
• Share country examples and real-world implementation experiences
• Discuss innovations in diagnostics, laboratory strengthening, and data use
• Identify priority actions and recommendations for LMICs
• Facilitate an open dialogue with global experts
