The International Society for Infectious Diseases (ISID)’s Program for Monitoring Emerging Diseases (ProMED) is referenced and acknowledged in the recent Scientific Reports published in Nature entitled: Global Disease Outbreaks Associated with the 2015-2016 El Niño Event. Using ProMED reports and other data sources, the authors analyzed environmental conditions, tracked select diseases, and systematically recorded and georeferenced outbreaks around the world.
