This joint fellowship program aims to foster international, peer-to-peer collaboration and the exchange of scientific knowledge and best practices.
Nebangwa Derrick Neba from the University of Buea in Cameroon
Project title: "Assessment of Protective Capacity and Antibody Responses toOv-DKR-2, a Chimeric Onchocerciasis Vaccine Candidate, in Mice”
His project is twofold:
- Cloning, Mass expression and Purification of vaccine candidate (2 months in Belgium; Supervised by Dr. Shey Robert and Prof. Jacob Suoupgui)
- Assessment of vaccine candidate's immunogenicity in mice (1 month in Cameroon; Supervised by Prof. Stephen Ghogomu)
Tewelde Gebremariam from the Mekele University in Ethiopia
Project title:"One Health Molecular Epidemiology of Dengue Viruses in Eastern Ethiopia: Implication to Promote Dengue Prevention and Control"
Dr. Gebremariam’s PhD work will be supervised by Dr. Henk Schallig from the University of Amsterdam (The Netherlands) and Professor Asrat Hailu from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia).
