The mission of the International Society for Infectious Diseases is to enhance research, prevention, and treatment of infectious diseases, particularly in low resource countries. The Society's programs emphasize the transfer of information and appropriate technology through training and education of health care professionals. In addition to the ISID sponsored conferences, the Society funds the following research grant and fellowship programs all of which are awarded by application:

• ISID Small Grants – Application deadline is April 1.
• ISID Scientific Exchange Fellowship – Application deadline is March 1.
• SSI/ISID Fellowship – Application deadline is April 1.
• ISID/ESCMID Fellowship -  Application deadline is March 1.
