Ziad A. Memish
Ziad Memish is currently the Deputy Minister of Health for Public Health in Saudi Arabia and Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Mass Gathering Medicine. He is a consultant on adult infectious diseases at King Fahad Medical City and Professor at the College of Medicine, Alfaisal University. He obtained his MD from the University of Ottawa in 1987, certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1991, a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Internal Medicine in 1992, certification from the American Board of Infectious Diseases (ABID) in 1992, American Certification of Infection Control (CIC) in 1992, Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) in Infectious Diseases in 1993, and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP). He has presented many abstracts internationally and published more than 200 peer reviewed papers and chapters in books. He was awarded a medal from the First Degree - the highest award on a National level in Saudi Arabia for achievements in the field of infectious diseases and infection control.
Dr. Memish serves on the ISID Education & Publication and the ICID Program Committees.
